Owing to the fact that my vessel has encountered unfavourable weather conditions during the present voyage as follows: When sailing across the Mediterranean Sea from 1st to 5th of May, we experienced boisterous weather with NW’ly wind of strong gale force 9 on Beaufort Scale. During this period the vessel was pitching and rolling heavily. Although all means of safeguarding the vessel and cargo (such as decreasing speed, sailing in a zigzag course or against the wind etc.) were applied so as to reduce the chances of being struck by the rough seas, the vessel was still manoeuvring with great difficulty. Meanwhile, the forecastle deck, ventilators and containers on deck were struck by the high seas all the time.

Whenever a ship has met with any of the following circumstances in the course of the voyage and as a result,
