Abstract

TheproductionratesoftheorbitallyexcitedD ± ±

millionhadronicZdecaysrecordedsmesons,Dbythes1andDALEPHs2,aremeasuredwiththe4.1detector1991–1995.TheD D+ 0s mesons+during

+0+arereconstructedinthedecaymodesDs1s1→D±K+andDs2→D0K+.TheproductionrateoftheD±s1ismeasured→DK,

tobe

f(Z→Ds1)=(0.52±0.09±0.06)%,undertheassumptionthatthetwoconsidereddecaymodesoftheD±D ±

s1saturatethebranchingratio.Theproductions2isdeterminedtobef(Z→D ±+0.07rateofthe

branchingfractionofthedecayD +s2)=(0.83±0.29 0.13)%,assumingthatthe

s2→D0K

+is45%.TheproductionratesinZ→cbdecaysaremeasuredseparately.
