Module 8 Public holidays

Unit 1

1. on that day 在那天 (具体日子前介词用on )

2. take a vacation 过假期, 度假

遵循:

主将从现: 即主句是将来时,从句是一般现在时;

主祈从现, 即主句是祈使句时,从句用一般现在时;

主情从现, 即主句有情态动词(can must may might ),从句用一般现在时

e.g. Ring me up as soon as you get there. 你一到那儿就给我打电话.

We will go back to school as soon as the May Day holiday is over.

五一节一过完我们就回到学校去.

13. when, while都有"当……时候"之意, 但while 后面的的动词要用进行时态。

eg: John fell asleep while he to the music.

14. until 直到…

2) 主句谓语动词是瞬间动词 (点动词), 则应使用

not…until…的结构, 此结构译为 “直到…才…”

e.g. He doesn’t go to bed until he finishes his homework every day.

The baby didn’t stop crying until he saw his mother.

He won’t leave until he sees his wife.

语法点：状语从句（一）

时间状语从句 when, while, before/after, as soon as, (not）…until/till, since 时间状语从句里，通常不用将来时态， 而用现在时表将来 （主将从现）

例如：I’ll call you as soon as I get to New York. / I will tell him the truth when he comes back.

Unit 2

1. be busy doing sth. / be busy with sth. 忙于做某事 e.g. We are busy preparing for the Spring Festival.

我们正忙着为春节做准备.

My father is busy with his work recently. 我爸爸最近一直忙工作.

2. celebration 庆祝 n. ( celebrate v. )

3. noisy adj. 嘈杂的, 吵闹的 ( noise n. 噪音

make noise )

(反义: quiet 安静的)

4. the start/beginning of… …的开始 (反义: ending n. 结尾, 结局)

5. not all 不是所有的 (部分否定)

e.g. Not all the students passed the exam. 不是所有的学生都通过了考试.

区别于none (全否定)

e.g. None of the students passed the exam. 学生中没有一个通过了考试.
