【摘 要】 本文尝试通过选择电影这一极具有普及性和娱乐性的大众媒体为切入点, 主要通过案列研究以及文献阅读的方式来探索和研究在美国电影中时时出现且根深蒂固于美国社会的英雄主义精神。本文会选取美国历史上具有代表性的漫画英雄人物蝙蝠侠及改编而成的系列电影:《蝙蝠侠》作为具体案例进行研究。通过对该系列影片中所存在的大量英雄主义情节分析来展示美国电影中英雄主义精神一贯的表现模式。并且基于系列电影研究，本文从历史原因及现实原因等方面来探索美国英雄主义的起源和存在必要性。就文化传承层面而言，英雄主义对现代美国社会仍然同时具有正面和负面影响；就文化融合角度而言，英雄主义电影在中国的普及也会对中国社会造成一定的影响。

Heroism in American Movies: A Case Study

of Batman Series

【Abstract】 This thesis selects movies, pervasive and entertaining mass media, as the breakthrough point to study the constant and ingrained heroism in American movies through case study and literature reading. And this thesis will choose the representative comic hero batman, and the adapted series movies: Batman series as the specific case to study. By analyzing a large number of heroic plots in the movie, demonstrates the common patterns for American movies to illustrate heroism. In addition, on the basis of movie study, this thesis will explore the origin and the existent necessity of American heroism through historic and realistic aspects. In terms of the inherence of culture, heroism has both positive and negative impacts on American society; concerning the integration of culture, the popularity of heroic movies will also exert some influence on Chinese society.

Heroism in American Movies: A Case Study

of Batman Series

1 Introduction

Nowadays, the movie, as one of the most pervasive and popular mass media, is

playing an essential role to propagate divergent culture values to the whole world. The most renown movie producer, Hollywood, is the pioneer and leader of the world movie market. According to an article entitled The Situation and Lessons of American Hollywood Movie Transmit Core Value by Zhou Weihong(周卫红), the production of Hollywood films, only accounted for less than one-tenth in world film production but that can obtain 70% of world box office. In 2008, Hollywood film in North American area grossed 9.6 billions of dollars and the global box office income was 27.8 billions of dollars. Moreover, in 2009, the box income in North American area increased to 10.6 billions dollars. At the same time, the global box office income grew to 29.9 billion dollars (4). The heroic movies accounts for a significant proportion among these movies. In that case, it is reasonable to use the movie as the flawless entry point to study heroism.

And in order to analyze the pattern of heroism, case study is a common way to

research the details of heroic plots. Moreover, through the analysis of Batman series, we will not only just superficially explore the heroism, but also can enumerate a lot of exhaustive plots to manifest the ordinary patterns of heroism.
