优点：

车辆启动停止时，只靠蓄电池带动，不达到一定速度，发动机就不工作，因此，便能使发动机一直保持在最佳工况状态，动力性好，排放量很低，而且电能的来源都是发动机，只需加油即可。其原理简单来说就是电动机和发动机的合理安排组合输出动力。

缺点：有两套动力，

再加上两套动力的管理控制系统，结构复杂，技术较难，价格较高且长距离高速行驶基本不能省油。纯电动汽车是完全由可充电电池（如铅酸电池、镍镉电池、镍氢电池或锂离子电池）提供动力源的汽车。

纯电动汽车以电动机代替燃油机，噪音低、无污染，且因使用单一的电能源，电控系统相比混合电动车大为简化。降低了成本，也可补偿电池的部分价格。纯电动车主要用于机场、社区、球场等地方。

缺点：仅限于某些特定范围内应用，市场较小。主要原因是由于各种类别的蓄电池，普遍存在价格高、寿命短、外形尺寸和重量大、充电时间长等严重缺点。 燃料电池汽车是指以氢气、甲醇等为燃料，通过化学反应产生电流，依靠电机驱动的汽车。其电池的能量是通过氢气和氧气的化学作用，而不是经过燃烧，直接变成电能的。燃料电池的化学反应过程不会产生有害产物，因此燃料电池车辆是无污染汽车，燃料电池的能量转换效率比内燃机要高2～3倍，因此从能源的利用和环境保护方面，燃料电池汽车是一种理想的车辆。
