General Office SafetyOffice work can pose a number of hazards to your health & safety. The best way to prevent an injury/illness from occurring is to proactively be on the lookout for safety hazards and take personal responsibility to get them corrected. In September 1996 a MIOSHA Inspector issued approximately 20 violations when conducting a Delphi “S” wall to wall inspection in the Divisional office area. – Slipping & Tripping Hazards – Electrical Hazards – Hazard Communication – Personal Protective Equipment – Fire SafetySaginaw Steering Systems

General Office Safety TipsSlips & Trips– – – – Take your time and watch where your going. Keep walkways clutter free. Never leave file cabinet drawers open. If you have to use extension cords tape them down in walkways.

Electrical Hazards– Replace damaged cords or plugs. – Avoid plugging too many cords into an electrical socket. Use multi-outlet electrical strips with a built in breaker. – Ensure 110V electrical outlets have cover plates.

Hazard Communication– Label portable chemical containers – Store chemicals properly

Personal Protective Equipment– Wear eye/hearing protection in designated areas.

“Safety Glasses” at Delphi– Must wear approved safety glasses with Side Shields in required areas – Approved safety glasses are indicated with “Z87” on the frame or lens – Must wear Visitors Safety Glasses or Safety Goggles over street glasses in required areas.
