Peaceful Use of Nuclear Energy

Nuclear energy is no longer a fresh idea to us any more since there are always some news report about it and the confliction caused by it. It truly has aroused some serious political problems and even wars. But we should look at this new energy with object attitude. Since it is an extreme powerful energy and if being used in a wrong way, unimaginable disaster may be caused for example the suffering of the people in Hiroshima. So it is really necessary for people to know how to use it correctly. It is the last thing people should do to use it to produce weapons. In this energy-short time, it should be applied to produce electricity and some other kinds of energy for people. This is the only way of using it peacefully.

Actually people do have used it to produce electricity instead of other fuel energy, but at the right moment only few countries have done so because of technology and economic limits and some other reasons. Information on the internet says that about 16 percent of the world’s electricity comes from 441 nuclear reactors, and among which 9 countries’ more than 40 energy comes from nuclear energy. Think about it, if all the countries in the world use nuclear energy instead of other fossil fuels, not only can we save fossil fuels which are decreasing sharply day by day, but also we can protect the environment which is becoming worse and worse with the development of human being since nuclear energy never charge waste and poisonous gases or liquids.

Since nuclear energy is the most powerful energy at the moment, of course it shouldn’t be used only as material to produce electricity. It can offer more for people, for example, to power vehicles and planes and even aerospace tools. As we all know that only a little Uranium235 can release extreme large amount of energy which can keep a car working for its whole life, thus there is no need to refuel it again and again. It’s not

only money saving but also convenient and environment friendly. If this kind of technology is spread and applied widely, what changes it may make! People don’t have to dig here and there on the earth for fossil fuels and just need to abstract the raw materials of nuclear energy from the sea where they are abundantly stored and can offer people for thousands upon thousands of years.

What I mentioned above seemed that nuclear energy has no shortcomings, of course this is impossible. We all know that it will give off radiation which is extremely dangerous and may cause some fatal diseases such as cancers. And the special environment for those materials to produce nuclear energy, for example, high temperature is also not an easy thing for most countries to create. So it calls for very high request and technology which are waiting for people to conquer.

Now it seems that the problems are not the technology of developing nuclear energy since scientists of all countries are trying their best to solve them. Nuclear energy has always been a sensible topic in the world because almost every country wants to apply it in military. So atomic bomb is created. Though it is comprehensible since it represents the military power of a country, it can never be accepted if it is used in wars because it means destruction to human being.

So all the countries in the world should get along well with each other, thus there won’t be wars and people can take advantage of nuclear energy in peaceful ways which are good for people’s civilization.
