Enter the full path to the text file you have previously prepared with the multiple site or satelllite data. The 'browse' button may be used to select the file. You must prepare a text file before you can use this module. eg C:\\Outages\\USA.txt

Satellite Name

Enter the literal name of the target satellite up to a maximum of 40 characters. (18 for satellite data records) Example Astra 2a

Satellite Longitude

Enter the longitude corresponding to the sub-satellite point of the satellite on the equator. This should be in decimal degrees with the suffix E for East and W for West. Examples 19.2E or 125.00W

Year of Interest

Enter the year that you wish the annual solar outage prediction to relate. 输入你需要预测日凌的年份

Frequency

频率

Enter the centre frequency of the carrier in GHz. For the uplink, typical values are around 6GHz and 14GHz for C and Ku band respectively. For the downlink, values of 4GHz and 12GHz are typical. The accepted range is 1GHz to 50GHz

Season

Seasons for solar outages are Spring and Autumn. Here we refer to the seasons as 'early' or 'late' because the southern and southern hemispheres, have opposite seasons. Select 'the 'Early' radio button to select outages in the first half of the year. Select the 'Late'\

Beamwidth Option

波束宽度选择

Select either 'standard' or 'wide' beamwidth when searching for solar outage events.

The region of sky scanned for solar outages depends on the given antenna beamwidth of the receiving station. Standard beamwidth, based on that of a theoretical uniformly illuminated aperture, is usually sufficient in practice. Tests have shown that the predicted outage windows are close to what is actually observed in practice.

Since antenna illumination patterns, and consequently beamwidths, can vary across antenna systems of the same size, a more pessimistic option is 'wide'. The result is that solar outages are predicted to be of longer duration and start and finish a few days earlier and later respectively. The calculated peak occurrence of the outage remains unchanged. The wide beamwidth option is set at 1.5 times that of standard and can be considered a 'belt and braces' option.

If you require a general listing over a whole range of antenna sizes then choose a small antenna size to capture the maximum outage window duration and frequency.

Resolution

时间精度

This radio button group sets the resolution used by the solar outage search algorithm. Normally, resolution to the nearest minute is sufficient. However, for sites close to the equator, where outages are, at worst, very brief you may like to increase the resolution to the nearest second. It is important to note that there are many site/satellite combinations close to the equator where outages may not occur at all.

Warning: Calculating outages to the nearest second is very processor intensive, so the calculations will take some time to execute. Use the 'nearest minute' resolution wherever sufficient. A Pentium processor, or better, is recommended for the 'nearest second' resolution option.

Select \ Local Civil Time is the default setting but global operators may prefer output in GMT.

Solar Outage Process All Visible Satellites

This module may be used to process all the geometrically 'visible' satellites in the 'satlist.geo' database. No batch file is required. The results are placed on the clipboard ready for pasting into 'Microsoft Excel' or similar products. You also have the option to save as HTML.
