3 Word Building

In English, there are some locative(表示位置的) prefixes, such as cross-, fore-, inter-, extra-, intra-, intro-. They are used to form new words, as is shown in the following table.

Grammar in Context

Task 1: Study the following paragraphs from the texts in this unit, paying special attention to the sequence of tenses. Reflect on its grammatical function in each sentence.

One day my wife reminded me that I needed to spend time with the people I love. So I started dating another woman.
