摘 要

《紫颜色》于1982 年出版后即成为畅销小说并引起批评界的关注，其形式、内容和主题都有了很多富有启发意义的研究成果。本文拟以《紫颜色》中女主人翁西丽亚的女性主体意识从缺失到建立的艰难历程为研究中心，探究西丽亚追寻和确立自我身份并最终获得独立和自主的曲折艰辛道路。并试图运用艾丽斯·沃克提出的“妇女主义”理论从文化角度探讨黑人女性西利亚在“双重压迫”下追求自由、自我的成长历程。本论文用黑人文化和女性文化作为连接点，突出黑人女性在成长过程中对奴役文化的抵抗及其弥合伤痛的精神力量，试图通过文本分析将女性主义文学研究和文化研究结合起来，完成对该作品的一种女性主义解读，同时指出本研究的局限性及其对今后研究的借鉴意义。

Abstract

After its first publication in 1982, The Color Purple attracts a great deal of academic interests. Based on the research fruits achieved in critics study, this thesis attempts to explore the procedure of Celie s loss and construction of her female subjectivity and tries to penetrate into the difficult process in which Celie searches for and establishes her selfhood and gains her independence in The Color Purple. This thesis also attempts to analyze Celie s growth from a cultural perspective by applying “womanist” theory advocated by Alice Walker and intents to expose Celie s oppression within the patriarchal and racial system and brings her desire for freedom, spirituality and creativity to light. The analysis is to make an integration of feminist study and cultural study, hoping to lead feminist literary study to a new level and bring cultural study into the eyeshot of feminists. This thesis also makes clear its limitations and draws attention to the possible researches that can be made from other perspectives.
