StepⅠ: Greetings

StepⅡ: Lead-in and pre-reading:

First play the song “Pass the Flame”

T:Many people are familiar with the song. It was sung ong Athens Olympics.It reminds us of many sports stars winning gold medals. Who are your sporting heroes or heroines?

S:

T:You can use these words to describe them:

Positive:brilliant, fast, skillful , smart, strong, useful

Negative:awful, boring, lazy, slow, terrible, useless, weak

Give them an example. The teacher show some Olympic athletes and guide students to talk about them.For example “Is he your sports hero? What does he do?

S:

Finally show the picture of Williams sisters.

T: Do you know them? What do they take up?

S:

T：They are sisters and both tennis champions. Do you want to know more about them? Read the text

T:In this class ,we’ve read a passage about Tennis stars- Williams sisters. We’ve learned a lot from it and we know “No pain, no gain”. At the same time we’ve also knew some usefus words. After class, read the passage again until you can recite some sentences. Then do the exercise7,8,9 on page 27. What’s more, don’t forget to preview “language points and grammar” in the next period.
