The International Religious Freedom Act of 1998 and America Human Rights Diplomacy

Abstracts: The serious increase in the issues of religious persecution and the concentration on the religious freedom held by Americans in the international community after the Cold War contributes to the enactment of The International Religious Freedom Act of 1998. The enactment of the Act indicates that the American government regards the religious freedom as the important content in human right diplomacy, where is the new “growth point”. The Act also shows that American government raises the comprehension of religious freedom to the level of international law during post Cold War period. As a result, it also leads to the reinforcement of the conversation and conflicts involved with religious issues in the international community.
