If I could choose, I would be a man

It’s ordinary to hear someone complain that he was born as a man for he should shoulder more responsibilities and can’t enjoy many privileges like a woman. That’s not my cup of tea. In my opinion, if I could choose, I would still be a man.

If I’m a man, for society, I can contribute more because the society nowadays offers more opportunities to men than women which has been criticized but still exists and can’t be denied. Although women have struggled for their rights for many times, but it can’t be denied that the society still looks down upon them more or less, such as the opportunities to move up the corporate ladder, particularly in factories that need manual workforce. In other words, as a man, you are more likely to get a job and has greater chances to achieve more. Besides, on my way to advance, some penny things such as maternity leave, sexual harassment, menstrual period, to name but a few are not able to stop my pace or even reduce it. Thirdly, in eyes of those ordinary people, women should share a bigger part in housework rather than the work outside. But if you are a man, you will not caught by these small issues, and are supposed to chase the broad blue sky, which has gradually been a tradition to conform

and responsibilities to take.

If I’m a man, for my family, I can shoulder more duties. Besides earning more to support family and create a cozy environment to live in for my family members where they have no need to worry about food, clothes, house and so on, I am able to have enough power to protect whom I love which, of course is not only in material class but also in spirit aspect, just like a tree standing in face of rain and snow for grass below. That is, as a man, I can be a symbol and sign, that the members of this family can’t be bullied.

If I’m a man, for myself, I was used to it for many years and I really don’t want to change my sex, which, obviously, will bring a large amount of troubles to me to adapt this new role. Can you stay calm and abandon the thought to get mad at the same time when you wake up and find that you have become a woman one morning? To be honest, I can’t.

If I am a man, I could pick up more responsibilities, as men are seen as breadwinners of families and braces of the society. The belief to support the sky over us will force me to advance in my career and engage in the process to success without a stop.
