The answer is none. She just write. She's not a genius , she's not gifted and doesn't write right. She isn't disciplined ,either.

Writing isn't difficult, it's fun, and anyone can write a book if they set their mind on it. Of course, a little dumb luck doesn't hurt.

Unit 6

1. In what ways was Sam an efficiency expert as a boy?

He used to organize his father's tools, his mother's kitchen utensils, his sister's boyfriends.

2. What qualities did Sam possess which gave him a good foundation for a career in industrial engineering?

He needed to be efficient and wanted to be well organized.

3. Who was Mr. Hobbs? Why did he want Sam's advice?

A friend of Sam's father. His factory is getting bigger and inefficient ,so he wanted Sam to give some advice to solve the problems.

4. What did Sam do during his week in the shirt factory?

Looking around and making notes.

5. How was it that sleeveless shirts were sometimes sent from the factory?

No one inspected the final product of the factory.

6. Why did Sam want to change the height of the worktables?

Because the table where the workers sat were very high and uncomfortable.

7. What did Sam suggest to make the work less boring?

The management should provide pleasant background music and beautify the dull setting, and the workers should have a fifteen-minute coffee break in the morning and afternoon.

8. Who was "Big Jim"? Why was Sam surprised that he wasn't fired?

The person who used to sit behind Sam in maths class in high school; because he was very slow and all the shirts were held up at his position. A great deal of time and efficiency were lost as he daydreamed while he worked.

9. Why did Sam want to have the assembly line redesigned?

Because if the assembly line is redesigned, a smooth work flow can be achieved and time and energy can be saved.

10. Do you agree with Sam that coffee breaks are important for factory workers? Why or Why not?

YES, I do. Because as the saying goes, "All works and no play makes Jack a dull boy."

11. Sum up in your own words the working conditions in the shirt factory and the cures suggested by Sam for the problems.

(1) The quality of finished shirts sometimes are not perfect , So the suggestion is "have a quality control inspection".

(2) BIG JIM wasted lots of time and efficiency , So the suggestion is "Redesign the assembly lines".

(3) The work is boring , and the workers are inefficient , the suggestion is "Have a fifteen-minute coffee break in the morning and afternoon, and provide pleasant background music and beautify the dull settings."

(4) The workers lack motivation, So the suggestion is "The excellent work results in frequent pay increases or promotions."
