Can Hester and Dimmesdale get away? Hester and Dimmesdale can get away because Hester urges Dimmesdale to escape as soon as possible and she makes some plans to go back Europe.

First, Hester and Dimmesdale love each other so deeply, and their strong feelings never pass away. Hester met Dimmesdale in the forest secretly and told him Roger Chillingworth s real identity. After receiving Dimmesdale s forgiveness, Hester let down her beautiful hair and removed the scarlet letter out of a feeling of freedom and happiness. They decided to make a new family with their daughter Pearl.

Moreover, they were well prepared for their departure. They determined to move to the old land, which was in the midst of civilization and refinement, and that would benefit Dimmesdale. At the same time, Hester Prynne had known the captain and crew, whose ship was going to England. Therefore she could bring Dimmesdale and Pearl to ship surreptitiously.

More importantly, Dimmesdale had been changed. The change was evident in the following words:

According to that, Dimmesdale seemed to have a new life and become a another man. He felt full of joy, like the grass that gets sunshine from all around the towering trees in the forest.

In conclusion, Hester and Dimmesdale can get away. On account of their love, preparation, and change, they can feel free and happy.
