Session Title: How to make a lucky star out of plastic pipe

Week: 12

Goal: By the end of this presentation, students will be able to make a

lucky star

Objective:

1. Learn the symbolism of lucky star

2. Enhance dexterity

3. Practice making a lucky star

Material: plastic pipes (78), scissors (5), a bottle, ppt

Procedure:

Ⅰ.Direct instruction

a. Symbolism(1 minute)

1. Represent protection

2. Represent safety

3. Mean good luck and best wishes

b. Uses of the star(1 minute)

1. As a gift

2. Decorate curtains and house

3. Make up letters, words and pictures

Ⅱ. Guided practice

a. The first step: make five right angles (3 minutes)

1. Fold it in half, and then create a clear creases in the middle

2. Turn the upper part of the pipe right and fold into an

isosceles right triangle. One triangle waist align creases.

3. Make the under pipe turn left along the first creases. Fold the other part of plastic pipe in opposite direction, and it will present a square, and then fold it along the diagonal

4. Repeat the last two steps until you create the fifth triangle Tips: Press tightly, alignment, the basic part

b. The second step: wrap around the outline of the star shape (2 minutes)

1. After you make the fifth star, you don’t need to fold it, Fold the left end of the pipe over to the right end to connect the two ends.

2. Use the upper pipe to wrap the fore point along the under edge. Wrap the same point along the upper edge with the other pipe.
