SLIDE is a 2D slope stability program for evaluating the safety factor or probability of failure, of circular or non-circular failure surfaces in soil or rock slopes. SLIDE is very simple to use, and yet complex models can be created and analyzed quickly and easily. External loading, groundwater and support can all be modeled in a variety of ways.

SLIDE是一个计算土、石质二维边坡稳定的程序，可计算边坡的安全系数、可能的破坏、可分析圆弧与非圆弧的潜在破坏滑动面。SLIDE非常便于操作应用，即使复杂的模型也可以迅速简便的建立和计算分析。外界荷载、地下水、支撑物都可以用不同的方式模拟。

SLIDE analyzes the stability of slip surfaces using vertical slice limit equilibrium methods (eg. Bishop, Janbu, Spencer etc). Individual slip surfaces can be analyzed, or search methods can be applied to locate the critical slip surface for a given slope. Deterministic (safety factor) or probabilistic (probability of failure) analyses can be carried out.

SLIDE应用建立在极限平衡上面的竖向条分法（例如Bishop, Janbu, Spencer等不同的方法）来计算边坡的稳定。各滑动面可以计算分析，由搜索算法确定所计算边坡的最危险潜在破坏滑动面位置。确定性的数据（安全系数）或者可靠性分析均可以进行。
