现如今全球粮食价格飞涨，农业和农民倍受关注。对于粮食/粮油贸易我知之甚少，仅知道大学国际贸易专业的同学有开设粮食贸易这一门课程，现在后悔以前没有选修，只能趁有空的时候到书店去翻书啦。

对于全球四大粮商我所了解的仅仅是他们作为原料供应商能提供哪些原料，提供怎样的服务，价格如何。现在翻阅他们的资料，以后或许会多一些关注。

全球最有名的四大粮商是：ADM（Archer Daniels Midland），邦吉（Bunge），嘉吉（Cargill）和路易达孚（Louis Dreyfus）。

ADM：Archer Daniels 这个名字最早是在1905，美国的Minneapolis, Minnesota注册的。（它的创始人在1902年其实就开始了相关的生意。）随着之后几年的发展，ADM慢慢将势力扩大到Wisconsin, New York等地。资本慢慢积累，1923年当收购了Midland公司后，公司正式更名为Archer Daniels Midland。二十世纪八十年代起，ADM开始走向世界。1983年在香港设立亚太分公司；1986年进行在欧洲的扩张，在荷兰和德国进行收购。2000年正式进入中国。现已在全球拥有超过24000个员工。

邦吉Bunge：邦吉由其创始人Johann Peter Gottlieb Bunge在1818年荷兰的阿姆斯特丹创立。1859年由其孙子将总部迁至比利时。1884年，bunge进入阿根廷，开始其在美洲的发展。1935年进入北美地区。Bunge一直在南北美地区迅速发展，1999年，将其总部正式迁至美国纽约。2000年正式进入中国。处于全球均衡发展的思想，2004年又加大了在东欧地区的投资。目前，Bunge在全球32个国家已拥有450多个工厂。
