THEEUROPEANPARLIAMENTANDTHECOUNCILOFTHEEURO-PEANUNION,

Havingnity,andregardinparticulartotheTreatyArticleestablishing95thereof,

theEuropeanCommu-HavingregardtotheproposalfromtheCommission,

HavingSocialCommitteeregardto(theopinionoftheEuropeanEconomicand1),

ActingoftheTreatyinaccordance(withtheprocedurelaiddowninArticle2512),Whereas:

Regulationmentfication,andmixtureslabellingof(EC)theNoCouncil1272/2008oftheEuropeanParlia-andofpackaging16Decemberof2008onclassi-cation()providesfortheharmonisationsubstancesofand3Community.andlabellingofsubstancesandmixturesthewithinclassifi-thetivelaws,67/548/EECThatofRegulation27June1967willreplaceCouncilDirec-theregulationsandadministrativeonprovisionstheapproximationrelatingoftosubstancesclassification,peancerningParliament(wellpackagingandlabellingofdangerous4)asandasofDirectivethe1999/45/ECoftheEuro-administrativetheapproximationCouncilofthelaws,of31May1999con-thepreparationsclassification,provisionsoftheMemberStatesregulationsrelatingandto(packagingandlabellingofdangerous5).

RegulationwithratesDirectives(EC)67/548/EECNo1272/2008and1999/45/ECbuildsontheandexperiencestancesthecriteriaforclassificationandlabellingincorpo-ofsub-HarmonisedandChemicalsSystemmixturesofprovidedClassificationforbyandtheGloballytionallevel,(GHS)withinwhichthestructurehasbeenofadoptedtheUnitedatLabellingtheNations.interna-of(3)

CertaininprovisionsontheDirectives67/548/EECclassificationand1999/45/ECandlabellingalsolaidservedownsuchpurposeliamentasRegulationofapplicationofotherCommunitylegislation,fordetergentsand(ofthe(EC)CouncilNo648/2004of31ofMarchtheEuropean2004Par-on6).

ThisRegulationshallbebindinginitsentiretyanddirectlyapplicableinallMemberStates.DoneatStrasbourg,16December2008.
