Unit 7 Thansgiving Part A 说课稿
1. Teaching contents
This lesson tals about the holiday “Thansgiving”. Students learn information about Thansgiving, including its date and celebration way. And now how to thans parents, teachers and friends on Thansgiving after learning the lesson.
2. Teaching aims
a. Aims on the nowledge Pupils will learn the new words “Thansgiving, American, invite and join”, the sentences “What’s the date today? It’s…” and the song “ Happy Thansgiving to You!”
b. Aims on the ability To develop the ability about taling English names of holidays and their date, especially for Thansgiving. And now how people celebrate these holidays.
c. Aims on the emotion To develop pupils’ emotion about giving thans to parents, teacher and friends by many ways.
3. Teaching procedures
At the beginning, teacher shows the calendar of today on PPT and the question “What’s the date today?” to encourage students to answer the sentence with “It’s November 2.”
Then, with the competition of “What holiday is it?” pupils’ passion is invoed. And the same time, the celebration ways f holidays of Tree Planting, Children’ s Day, Teachers’ Day, National Day and Christmas Day are reviewed.
Net, by watching the video about origin of Thansgiving, pupils get acquaintance with
Thansgiving. And by singing the song “Happy Thansgiving to You!” pupils are happy and willing to learn the tet.
In the tet learning, three activities are designed. First, watch the video and then choose the correct words to fill in the blans. Second, competition “See the picture and say the holiday and its’ date”. Third, mae a role play.
Finally, for etension, I put a discussion in this step. Pupil see the pictures about things parents, teachers, friends do for them and discuss “Our parents, teachers, friends do so much for us, what should we do to give thans to them?” Students say many ways to give thans such as maing cards, send
flowers, washing dishes and so on. This step is designed to develop pupils’ emotion and to encourage pupils to epress their emotion in daily life.
In a whole, the teaching of this lesson aims to develop not only the pupils’ language abilities but also pupils’ emotion epress. For education, to teach students to be a grateful one is more important than a nowledgeable one.
