Tom and Mike are American boys. (二) 并列句 由并列连词把两个或两个以上的互相关联而又互相独立的独句（即简单句）连在一起而构成的句子叫并列句。 例如：I like reading books, and I like watching TV,too. We fished all day, but we didn’t catch a thing. 二．结构 （一）简单句的结构如下 1.主语+ 不及物动词 The train will leave soon. Great changes have taken place in my hometown in the past ten years. 句子没有宾语，但常带有状语。 2.主语+及物动词+宾语 He has read this book many times. I want to talk with you this afternoon. 3. 主语+系物动词+表语 Silk feels soft and smooth. This machine is in good condition. 连系动词包括：表示特征和存在状态的：be , look, sound, smell, taste, feel, seem, appear等。 表示状态延续的：remain, stay, keep, stand, continue等。 表示状态变化的：become, get, turn, go, grow等。 4.主语+及物动词+间接宾语+直接宾语 She brought me a shirt.
