意为“你是否曾经考虑过究竟、到底是为什么许多人都倾向于做某件事？”刚才是对主语进行强调，现在是对原因状语进行强调。Be choosing to do sth 在这里并不翻译为“选择”，而翻译为“决定、打算、计划做某事”。

③Have you ever thought about how it is that we are better at doing sth？

意为“你是否曾经考虑过究竟该如何我们才能更好地做这件事？”刚才第一个是对主语进行强调，第二个是对原因状语进行强调，第三个是对方式状语进行强调。 句子还可以做如下三个近义转换：

Have you ever thought about how it is that we are better able to do sth？意为“你是否曾经考虑过究竟该如何我们才能更好地胜任事？”。

Have you ever thought about how it is that we manage to do sth？意为“你是否曾经考虑过究竟该如何我们才能成功设法做好某事？”

Have you ever thought about whether it is appropriate for sb to do sth？意为“你是否曾经考虑过对某人而言做某事是否稳妥、合适、恰当？”句中appropriate 可以用proper来代替。

刚才是疑问句，现在我们把疑问句变成陈述句。

It is not difficult to imagine that ?，双重否定，意为“不难想象?”。

It is quite difficult to imagine that ?，意为“很难想象，无法想象，简直想象不出?”

因此，前面的几个句子可以转换为：

It is not difficult to imagine that what if +clause 意为“不难想象如果发生?情况，会发生怎样的后果”。

It is not difficult to imagine that what it is like to do sth（doing sth）意为“不难想象做?事是有?的体验、滋味、感受、心情、情况、情形”。

It is not difficult to imagine that how much courage it takes us to do sth.意为“不难想象做?事做某件事要花费我们多少勇气”。 It is not difficult to imagine that why it is that quite many people are choosing to do sth.意为“不难想象为什么那么多人倾向于做某件事情。”

It is not difficult to imagine that how it is that we are better able to do sth.意为“不难想象我们究竟怎么做才能胜任这件事。” It is not difficult to imagine that ?还可以用 It can be easily found that ?进行近义转换，意为“很容易就可以发现?”，其中found that? 过于简单，可以变为更高级的figure that ?。

与此相近的一个意思表达句型为Has it ever occurred to you to do

sth on your own inititative?

这还是一个一般问句的表达形式，这个固定句型来自最基本的短语，sth occur to sb 含义是“某人想要，想起?”，由此扩展成这个固定句型，意为“你是否曾经想过要积极主动地做某事吗？”，注意occur是不规则变化，它的过去式和过去分词必须双写r加-ed，变成occurred。

on your own 意思是“独立，自愿，自己”

on your own inititative意思是褒义的“主动、积极，自觉”， on your own inititative为方式状语，可以改写为时间状语， Has it ever occurred to you to do sth one day?

意为“你是否考虑过有一天要做某事？”one day也可以用someday替换。

Have you ever dreamed of(about) doing sth?

意为“你是否梦想、渴望做?”，后面可以跟时间状语，也可以跟方式状语。例如：

Have you ever dreamed of(about) doing sth someday（one day）？意为“你是否曾经梦想过有一天会去做某事？” Have you ever dreamed of(about) doing sth on your own

inititative？意为“你是否曾经梦想过有一天会去积极主动地做某事？”

总之，四六级写作一开始就要明确、恰当地引出话题，它和汉语一样要开门见山。四六级写作课的目的就是要做到四个字——学

以致用。

本句话意为“作为一个忠实的读者，我将会把为你们对无所不在的白色污染做一个真实的解释说明当做是自己的使命”。

1、句子中的faithful意为“忠实的”，可以用loyal来替代。

2、count it as 意为把它看作?，其中it是形式宾语，用来指代后面的真正宾语不定式。

和count it as 同义的表达有以下几个： perceive it as ? ；interpret it as ?；（高级） see it as ?；view it as ?；take it as ?；（低级）

3、mission意为“使命”，引申为“责任”；因此，count it as my own mission字面意思为“把?当做我们自己的使命；责任”；换句话说，也就是“我们有责任、有义务去做?”。 count it as my own mission的同义表达有：

make it our own mission to do sth （使做?成为我们的责任、义务、使命）

think of it as our own commitment to do sth. commitment引申为“特定的责任”，该短语的字面意思还是“把?当做我们自己的使命；责任”。

讲到“有责任做?”，可以参考倒数第二段最后一句话；it is up to all of us to do sth。

根据上下文的意思，“有责任做?”还可以换成“应该做?”，“应该做?”有以下两种表达方式：

（1）sb really ought to do sth ；sb truly ought to do sth

（2）sb be really supposed to do sth; sb be truly supposed to do sth 两个表强调的“确实，的确应该做?”。

如果有必要，还可以换成，find it necessary to do sth 意为“觉得做?是必要的”，前面可以加一个表强调的副词consistently，变成consistently find it necessary to do sth，意为“自始至终，始终觉得做?是必要的”。

4、这一句的中心词count有两个用法，第一是count it as ?意为“把?当作，把?看作”， 第二是引申为“重要”，例如：

So at least in one sense,it does not count any longer whether to do sth.

句中in one sense意为“在某种程度上”，at least意为“至少”，所以So at least in one sense，表示“因此，至少在某种程度上；
