There are more than 60, 000 lakes in Finland, making up 9 percent of its total area. Most lakes are linked by rivers or channels .So one can tour most of the country by boat.

In winter these lakes and rivers turn into good passageways for sledges. Two thirds of Finland‘s territory is within the Arctic Circle.

The northern tip of Finland has fifty days without sunrise during winter.

Finland is also famous for its vast forests, which cover 71 per cent of its territory. One quarter of Finland‘s industrial output value comes from the forest. Finland has a nickname, ―The Country of Thousand Islands‖.

Helsinki is the capital. It‘s formed by more than forty small islands and peninsulas. Questions:
