AbstractPreviousplanarparametrizationmethodscannotbeappliedto0-genusclosedmeshmodelsdirectlyandsphericalparametrizationismainlyapplicabletothemodelswhoseshapesareclosetothesphere.Inthispaper,wede neahyper-cylindricalparametricdomainandpresentaprogressivecylindricalparametrizationalgorithm.Suchanalgorithmcanbeappliedtothemeshmodelswhichhaveasimpleskeletonorresemblethecylinder.Wefurtherpresentaskeleton-guidedmeshcylindricalparametrizationmethodsuchthatthemodelswithstrongskeletonscanbegloballyparameterized.Theparametricdomainispurelydeterminedaccordingtomodelshape,relievinggeometricdistortioncausedbyparametrization.Themodelissegmentedintothemainbodyandseveralbranches.Weparameterizeeachofthemand nallystitchtheparameterizedbranchesontomainbody.Weverifythee ectivenessofthecylindricalparametrizationmethodthroughexperimentsandshowitsapplicationtoconstrainedtexturemapping.KeywordsMeshparametrization,cylinder,skeleton,texturemapping
