1. Learn to understand: I’m Miss Williams / Alice / John.

2. Learn to use: What’s your name? I’m / Good morning. Hello. Goodbye. / How are you? I’m OK. I’m fine. I’m not very well. Teaching Important Points:

1. The sentences: How are you? / I’m OK. / I’m fine. / I’m not very well.

Teaching Difficult Points:

1. The sentences: How are you today? / I’m not very well.

2. The pronunciations of “Williams”.

Teaching Aids:

PP; A tape recorder; Simple drawings of “ Alice”,“ John” and “Miss Williams”; Pictures of children.

Teaching Process:

Step 1: Warming up.

1. Greetings:

T: Good morning, boys and girls.

Step 2: Presentation

1. Lead in:

T: 我们在上学期认识了很多的小朋友,他们叫什么名字?你们还记得吗?

(生说人名,师出示图片。)今天我们还要认识三个新朋友,他们是谁?Look. ( 画出Alice, John and Miss Williams的图像并板书、带读。)

2. Ask SS to greet to them.

SS: Hello. / Good morning, (Alice)

3. Role-play: 2 Ss act as Alice and John. T acts as Miss Williams. T: I’m Miss Williams. What’s your name?

S: I’m Alice/ John. (To a few Ss)

(带读板书)

4. Drill: Role-play between 3 Ss.

5. Teach the sentence: I’m fine. / I’m OK. / I’ m not very well. (An interview)

T: How are you today?

S: I’m fine. / I’m OK. / I’ m not very well. (教读板书,学生如实回答)

6. Teach the sentence: How are you today? (教读板书)

7. Drill: Practise in pairs: How are you today? I’m fine. / I’m OK. / I’ m not very well.

Step 3: Practice

1. A pantomime: T stands behind the pupil and imitates his/ her voice and says sth. about the dialogue. While the pupil just moves his /her mouth. (actions)

4. A pantomime between 2 Ss: 3 pairs. Listen to the tape and try to imitate the intonations. Act the dialogue out: Prepare for a few minutes. Step 4: Consolidation

Step 5: Homework

Listen to the tape and read 3 times.
