4. 结果，城市空气污染越来越严重；是采取一些措施防止空气污染的时候了。 Clean air is important to good health. If we breathe polluted air for a long time, we may get sick. So we need clean air. Unfortunately, air pollution is present almost everywhere, especially in cities.

Our cities have many factories. They send lots of smoke into the air every day. More and more cars also produce lost of waste gases. Sometimes we burn rubbish, which also pollutes the air. As a result, air pollution in cities is becoming more and more serious. It‘s time that we took some measures to prevent air pollution.

例一 要点:

1. 我的英语老师要我多读些东西；为提高英语水平，我经常读《中国日报》； 2.《中国日报》是北京出版的英语报纸；可从中得到各种需要的信息，同时，也可用来学习英语，值得一读；

3.在中国的大城市里，很容易买到该报纸；但对学生来讲每天买很费钱；

4.在我们的图书馆里有许多种报纸，包括《中国日报》；我们每晚可去宽敞、明亮的阅览室读《中国日报》是一种享受。

My English teacher has asked me to do some more reading .So in order to improve my English, I often read China Daily. China Daily is an English newspaper published in Beijing. We can get various kinds of information we need from it. Meanwhile, we can learn English. It is worth reading. We can get the newspaper easily in the big cities in China. However, for a student, it‘s expensive to buy China Daily every day. But there are many kinds of newspapers in our library, including China Daily we can go to read China Daily every evening. It‘s enjoyable to read it in the large and nice reading-room. 例二 要点：

1.报纸经常发表有趣的故事来吸引读者。记者写时通常按照倒金字塔的格式。也就是说，最为概要性的信息最先被给出，然后才是细节。

2.第一段叫做引子，给出主要话题的和重要事实。第二段给出引子中未能包括的重要事实。

其余部分介绍一些新的但不太重要的背景情况。

3.当你阅读新闻故事时，开头部分一定要非常仔细读。设法利用第一段中的信息来回答5个W和一个H问题。这会有助于你猜测自在其余的故事中将发生什么。 Newspapers often publish interesting news stories to attract readers. When writing a news story, the reporters follow an inverted pyramid format. That‘s to say, the broadest, most general information is give first, and then the details.

The first paragraph is called the lead. It gives the main topic and most important facts。The second paragraph gives the important facts that the writer was unable to include in the lead. The rest of the story introduces news but less important background information.

When you read a news story, you should read the beginning very carefully. Try to answer the who, what, when, where, why and how question with information in the first paragraph. This will help you guess what will follow in the rest of the story.
