—They're my grandparents.他们是我的祖父母。

1．指示代词

(1)定义：

指示代词是用来指示或标识人或事物的代词。指示代词表示“这个”、“那个”、“这些”、“那些”等含义。指示代词有名词和限定词的功能。常见的指示代词有________，________，________，________等。

(2)用法：

①指示代词可在句中作主语、宾语和定语。如：

________ is a desk.这是一张书桌。(作主语)

②this和these表示所指的人或物距离说话人比较近，而that和those表示所指的人或物距离说话人比较远。如：

③从数上来看，this和that指单数， these和those指复数。如：

________ is my mother.这是我妈妈。

________ are my parents.这是我的父母。

④this和that用作电话用语时，this指自己，而that指对方。如：

你好！我是玛丽。你是小丽吗？

⑤当指示代词在疑问句中作主语时，其答句主语的变化：this, that→it; these, those→they。如：

—Is________ a book？这是一本书吗？

—Yes, ________ is.是的，它是。

—Are________ your friends?

那些是你的朋友吗？

—Yes, ________ are.是的，他们是。

2．单数句与复数句的转换

(1)将单数句中的指示代词、人称代词、名词及be动词等变为复数形式

This/That is a ruler. → These/________ are rulers.

She is in China. → They are in China.

I'm a boy. → We ________ ________．

(2)将单数句中的不定冠词a, an去掉(某些固定搭配除外)。

I t is an apple. → ________ ________ apples.

(3)单数句中的形容词、定冠词、副词、疑问词、介词等保持不变。

[注意] 名词作定语时，一般用单数形式，被修饰的名词变复数时，一般情况下，作定语用的名词不需要变为复数形式，但由man或woman作定语修饰的名词变成复数时，两部分皆要变为复数形式。如：

That is an orange quilt.
